The Viva Palestina convoy drove slowly along the Salah Eddine road leading to Gaza City taking in the atmosphere around them and savoring the moment of history they had just created.
Along the way, thousands of Palestinians, the other heroes of this beautiful story of resistance, defiance and hope approached every vehicle kissing, touching, hugging the bravest of Britain. They handed their babies, their young children, to the convoy members so that they could be embraced, as if the angels were in town. Drenched in flowers, tears were flowing on both sides.
Further up the road, they could see people coming out of their tents and the ruins of their destroyed homes running towards them, rubbing their eyes in disbelief that the siege has been broken and they were not alone.
According to the Palestinian Information Centre, George Galloway in his historic speech from Al Katiba Square, confirmed that Ismael Hania is the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and a prime minister for all the free of the world
He also said that the members of the convoy are not from the upper class of the UK, but from all walks of life, all religions, all colours. The donations came from ordinary people, from mosques and churches. He also said that millions could not make this journey, but they are all praying today for you, the people of Palestine.
In Gaza City, it was jubilations and celebrations tonight where the guests of honour did not want to be considered as guests - but as part of the ever-growing Gaza family. The Gaza authorities have organised a rally in honour of Viva Palestina and a program of activities that includes a tour of the damaged areas including schools, hospitals and other amenities.
Some support members of Viva Palestina who managed to cross on foot after a ten-hour wait at the border are staying at Rafah tonight as guests of the Gaza governing authorities. Unfortunately, some other members are still awaiting permission to cross. They are hoping that the Egyptians will allow them to join their friends tomorrow.
An eventful day, with a roller-coaster of emotions, is drawing to an close. Tomorrow Viva Palestina will tour Gaza to see, at first hand, the plight of one and half million people in the densest concentration of people per square kilometre on the globe.
They will report on the scale of the calamity in what, in reality, is the world’s biggest concentration camp, where people have endured a never-ending siege and where they have nowhere to run when the F16s decide to play their deadly game with the children of Gaza.

Hey irondad ... *chuckle* ...
Look at the faces, soldier face wide, open, alert ... inscrutable. Photographer ... like a child screwing his face up to pear into the unknown.
It would actually be funny if it wasn't a gun. As to where i find these? Ok, i'll admit a HUGE weakness for visual imagery, i used to do photography, and have been told i have talent, but at this point can not afford either 35mm d+p or a digicam.
So i surf the web, and revel in other's ability to capture the world n a 100th of a second. And like with this soldier pic, how apt, certainly only 1000 words would be an insult, you could wax eloquent for months on the various nuances and associations of that photo.
One i just found this morning on a "private" biker site, well the comment under it says all, sometimes a picture only needs a few short, sharp words.

Strains of AC/DC, Back in Black.....
Mike, thanks but no.
For some arbitrary reason i cannot comment (?) ... silly technology. Ah well, my fucking blog i'll just use the main page to reply, i can do that :D
Found a really interesting video last night, it was in some stuff a friend brought for the pc. The B52's, 1978, live on stage in front of about 30 people, doing Rock Lobster. OMG, wow!! Awesome to watch, and odd, because it is a really intense song, musically too, and yet on stage it take a whole new persona. The BEST part is, after a really hot live performance, the lead singer says: "Waiters work for tips, i should know, i'm a waiter too .... "
YOU tube - Rock Lobster
And my story of the day .... : The old man and the bicycles
March 11 2009 at 07:34AM
Geneva - A Swiss retiree in his seventies was convicted on Tuesday of being a serial bicycle thief, rolling away nearly 900 bicycles over a six-year period.
The former insurance agent began snatching bikes after he retired in 2001, and quickly resold them, the Swiss news agency ATS reported.
By the end of 2007, he had pilfered a total of 873 bicycles.
A court in the northwest Swiss city of Basel handed the bike thief a two-year suspended jail sentence and fined him 66 000 Swiss francs for unpaid taxes on his illegal gains. - AFP
I ASK you, what the fuckity fuck fuck?
peace

Earthbag Building
New idea, or an old idea, i'm not really sure. Old idea reworked more like it.
www.earthbagbuilding.com
by Kelly Hart
The idea of making walls by stacking bags of sand or earth has been around for at least a century. Originally sand bags were used for flood control and military bunkers because they are easy to transport to where they need to be used, fast to assemble, inexpensive, and effective at their task of warding off both water and bullets.
At first natural materials such as burlap were used to manufacture the bags; more recently woven polypropylene has become the preferred material because of its superior strength. The burlap will actually last a bit longer if subjected to sunlight, but it will eventually rot if left damp, whereas polypropylene is unaffected by moisture.
Because of this history of military and flood control, the use of sandbags has generally been associated with the construction of temporary structures or barriers. Using sandbags to actually build houses or permanent structures has been a relatively recent innovation.
In 1976 the Research Laboratory for Experimental Building at Kassel Polytechnic College in Germany began to investigate the question of how natural building materials like sand and gravel could be used for building houses without the necessity of using binders. The use of fabric-packed bulk material was found to be a cost-efficient approach. They used pumice to pack in the bags, because it weighs less and has better thermal insulating properties than ordinary sand and gravel. Their first successful experiments were with corbelled dome shapes ( an inverted catenary) which was obtained with the aid of a rotating vertical template mounted at the center of the structure.

Think Bike in Cape Town
I'm a Cape Town boy, and DAMN does this make me proud ....
From the Think Bike website
The Mayors office of Cape Town, in particular, the Executive Deputy Mayor, Councillor Grant Haskin, has thought it good to support Think Bike and its initiatives into the future.
Support, as a start, comes to the tune of 50 000 (thats fifty thousand) bumper stickers which the Mayor's office has ordered from Think Bike. Deputy Haskin has committed to putting a bumper sticker on every Cape Town City Council vehicle - thats 12 000 vehicles
We see this as the tip of the iceberg in Cape Town with many spin-offs coming from this - and it has already started rolling in. Think Bike has been invited to participate in the upcoming NMT workshop as well as participating in the planned Safety & Awareness forum.
We are confident that other organisations and institutions will follow in their support for Think Bike. I must add here that Councillor Haskin rides both a motorcycle and bicycle and safety and awareness lies dear to his heart. He is outspoken in his views on safety and his input into the process into the future is invaluable.
Discussions are already underway to ensure a greater co-operation with the traffic authorities in Cape Town and other influential departments.

Shaik
Fuck you Shabir ... you winging whining little poep. Big man and all that, bring him to earth he cries like a little baby for his mommy.
""The act is very clear. It talks about people who are in the final stages their terminal illness - but that determination is not done by the officials of the department, that is done by medical doctors that submit their reports to the parole board which then makes a decision," said Wolela.
Shaik has served two years and four months of his 15-year term, spending most of that time in hospital due to high blood pressure, depression and chest pains.
Asked whether Shaik was in the final stages of a terminal illness, Wolela replied: "In terms of the act, as now pronounced or determined by medical practitioners.""
This is the ANC, a bunch of cowards. *spit* Make OTHER people die in prison, but not their struggle hero friend. I cannot express my disgust enough.

It is no more a secret that a select group of powerful men of a certain Western Judeo-Christian strain (Anglo-U$raeli henceforth), and their regional touts, are indeed busy carving a new world for us all, a world where we all will be ‘equal’ at last.
It is also a fact that all world orders, from the olden to the present ones, have always been shaped and reshaped from the Middle East. Earlier, it was done in the name of God by kings and Crusaders where adding huge chunks of real estate to the Empire was their actual aim. Now, it is being done in the name of liberty by ruling charlatans for the left over riches in the innards of the earth. While the convenient banner of divinity has been replaced by the equally expedient flag of freedom, we the underdogs, force-fed with the illusory diet of religion and patriotism, continue as ever to remain the fodder, fuel and engine for the schema of the devil.
That we cannot learn not to be their tools remains yet another unfortunate fact. History repeats itself and we are its unlucky medium. Therefore, for a smooth transition from the present to the future, there are certain rules that need to be learned first.
Rule # 1. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, the war is being fought against a stateless, invisible enemy called a ‘terrorist’. As the enemy is unseen and unquantifiable, so too shall be the end of the war. This is an endless war.
Rule # 2. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, for the sake of liberty and freedom, all rules of fair play, standards of justice and canons of human rights etc etc. shall stand null and void for the duration of war (see rule # 1 for the duration of war).
Rule # 3. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, none shall resist the onslaught. It is a ‘war on terror’ and any one resisting it shall be ‘the terrorist’.
Rule # 4. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, when the ‘liberators’ help each other, it shall be called ‘helping friends’ but when the victims do the same, it shall be called ‘abetting terrorists’.
Rule # 5. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, the ‘liberators’ may kill hundreds of thousands of human beings. This is called ‘War on Terror’ and there is neither any limit on human casualties in such wars nor is there a need to prove guilt by trial. A single ‘liberator’ being killed in retaliation, however, shall be viewed as an ‘act of unmitigated terror’ inviting an overwhelming rejoinder.
Rule # 6. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, the ‘liberators’ may capture, imprison and torture thousands at will. The victims doing the same, even in limited numbers like one or two, shall be called ‘kidnapping’ and a pure act of ‘terror’ and a ‘dis/proportionate’ response shall be immediately proffered.
Rule # 7. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, as a general guideline to the media pundits, it shall always be the Arabs that attack first and the Anglo-U$raelis who defend themselves. This shall be called ‘retaliation’. Likewise, a single Anglo-U$raeli being killed shall be called ‘terrorism’ and the Anglo-U$raelis killing the Arabs et al, an act of ‘self-defense’, or ‘collateral damage’, as the need may be.
Rule # 8. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, as a further guideline for the media pundits, when Anglo-U$raelis kill too many civilians, the world must call for ‘restraint’ and the needless uproar be termed as ‘reaction of the International Community’. On the other hand, the world community must be ‘outraged’ over the act of a single killing on the Anglo-U$raeli side and must ask the international public to condemn the ‘evil doers’.
Rule # 9. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, plots after ‘terror plots’ shall be discovered ‘just in time’ as and when the need arises. If the world citizenry does not act spooked enough, this activity of discovering terror plots ‘just in time’ shall be ceased forthwith. From then on, as a collective punishment, such terror plots shall be allowed to be carried through to their logical ends.
Rule # 10. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, the solitary role of the United Nations Organization shall be that of a debris sweeper after the Anglo-U$raelis conduct their operations. In between these operations, however, the organization may be used, whenever deemed necessary, to impose sanctions to soften the next targets for future operations.
Rule # 11. In this Anglo-U$raeli campaign for New World Order, finally and most importantly, all thought crminalls like George Orwell and John James Ingalls etc. are now declared heretics and lunatics, even if posthumously. All such works are declared as the works of Devil and banned for the duration of war (see rule # 1 for the duration of war). Anyone found reading, disseminating or otherwise being in the general vicinity of printed material carrying such works shall be liable for a lynching death by nearby comrades. To recognize such works of the devil, the following sample excerpts from poisonous creeds of the two earlier mentioned thought criminals are circulated for general public awareness. The first ones are from George Orwell;
Quote # 1. Big Brother is watching you.
Quote # 2. Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.
Quote # 3. Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.
Quote # 4. All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.
And this next one from , John James Ingalls;
“In the democracy of the dead all men at last are equal. There is neither rank nor station nor prerogative in the republic of the grave.”
Note : While there shall be no abrogation in the Rules of Transition for the duration of ‘War on Terror’ (see rule # 1 for the duration of war), further additions, as the need arises, may be made from time to time. General public be warned.
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

Taken from Treehugger
More info here and here
o you're a graffiti artist that must leave her mark, but hate inhaling toxic fumes and dodging cops in subways? The Ideas Factory has a recipe for you. Gardeners use a mixture of sugar, beer & moss to encourage moss growth, and eco-artists can use it to make several small pieces or one large piece of graffiti:
1 can of beer
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Several clumps garden moss
You will also need a plastic container (with lid), a blender and a paintbrush.
To begin the recipe, first of all gather together several clumps of moss (moss can usually be found in moist, shady places) and crumble them into a blender. Then add the beer and sugar and blend just long enough to create a smooth, creamy consistency. Now pour the mixture into a plastic container.
Find a suitable damp and shady wall on to which you can apply your moss milkshake. Paint your chosen design onto the wall (either free-hand or using a stencil). If possible try to return to the area over the following weeks to ensure that the mixture is kept moist. Soon the bits of blended moss should begin to recuperate into a whole rooted plant – maintaining your chosen design before eventually colonizing the whole area.
Thanks to P.S.Sethi for the tip.

Animals die as activists torch zoo
Turin, Italy - Dozens of birds were killed Wednesday at a private zoo in Italy in an arson attack claimed by radical animal rights activists, news reports said.
Several bottles filled with petrol were used to start the fire which killed some 40 hawks, buzzards and owls in an aviary at the Zoom Zoo near the northern city of Turin.
"This is for the imprisoned animals - Animal Liberation Front" was found spray-painted in red near the scene of the early morning attack.
Firefighters prevented flames from spreading to a warden's shed and other buildings, one of them housing several tigers, the reports said.
The recently built zoo was scheduled to open to the public in April, its owner said.

Animal Liberation front
I'm all for their goals and stated aims, and i'm not averse to the idea of criminally taking on those who hurt animals. HOWEVER ... i don't understand this story. What on god's good earth were they thinking?
Those animals suffered a worse fate at the hands of the activists than being in a zoo would have been? I hate zoos on principle, but honestly, they do look after the animals better than most places.
The world's gone mad.

Rest in Peace Bernadine

Pretoria - A Grade 11 pupil died on her way to Garsfontein High School in Pretoria on Monday morning after a taxi first incessantly hooted at her before hitting her scooter from behind and driving over her.
Bernadine Kruger, 16, died on impact.
Hugo Vermaak, who was driving along Atterbury Road, saw the accident happen between the Jacqueline and General Louis Botha Drive intersections.:
"I was driving in a westerly direction. The traffic was heavy and we were moving very slowly.
"I saw the girl on her little scooter going in an easterly direction. She was in the left-hand lane.
"Then I saw the taxi speeding up behind her and hooting at her. Just as she wanted to change lanes, he hit her full-on.
"I saw her mouth open when he hit her. She fell and then he drove over her. It wasn't a pretty sight," Vermaak said.
After the accident the traffic came to a complete standstill. Many people jumped from their cars and ran to Bernadine to see if they could help her.
The taxi driver had not been arrested yet because the police first have to complete their investigation into the accident, she added

Rest in peace Bernadine.
I can't quite summon words about this. It's just so fucking TYPICAL of this area, and the drivers, ESPECIALLY taxi drivers. I'm sadly not surprised, this was inevitable, but for crying out loud why does it have to be?
The last line is the one which takes all the sorrow and pain, and transforms it into a rising hate which threatens to spill overs like a volcano in full eruption.
They have arrested me, in front of my family, leaving a non licensed mom with children on the side of the road, for technicalities, yet this DOG, cold bloodedly drives over a young girl, and they cannot arrest him???
For all that is good, holy and worth fighting for, enough!!! How dare these metro PIGS behave so callously towards the family of the dead girl? How dare they gloss over it as some "accident".
I speak only for myself, yet i'm one of many ... this MUST be dealt with in a very harsh manner. Otherwise there will be further bloodshed. This is the kind of thing that will make open war on our roads possible. Since the police *spit* have no apparent regard for this as anything more than manslaughter, and NOT the murder it is, what is left but vigilanteism? What other form of justice is available for the victim's family and friends?
This WILL NOT go away. We will NOT allow this to become JUST ANOTHER FUCKING WORTHLESS DEATH. This is honour, this is dignity, this is a fight to be recognised as HUMAN. Nothing more, nothing less.

Americans, prepare to die.
Infowars
If you click on the above link, you'll see a video, hand held footage of an open field somewhere in Atlanta, Georgia. In this field sit half a million really nice non-biodegradable, water and chemical resistant coffins, or if you wish to be politically correct, Hercules Airseal Vaults.
Then, we have the OTHER elder statesman of the states, Zbigniew Brzezinski Zbigniew Brzezinski warning of rioting across the US.
So, you have the thought leaders predicting massive social upheaval, and putting their money where their mouth is, at LEAST 500 000 dead people, potentially biologically unsafe (?) ... in the middle of the united states. We can assume that only 1 cache has been found by the pesky slaves, there have to be more.
There is no nice possibility in either of these stories. They expect hungry americans to riot, and they've already anticipated the results.

Hesse quote
"You know quite well, deep within you,
that there is only a single magic, a single power,
a single salvation...and that is called loving.
Well then, love your suffering.
Do not resist it, do not flee from it.
It is only your aversion to it that hurts, nothing else."

Most Wars Occur in Earth’s Richest Biological Regions
WELL fuck me sideways, who'da thunk THAT???
No kidding, it adds just another dimension to the gross inhuman depravity of the world ordereds. I have wondered about this before, sort of abstractedly, but yes, most of the us's wars in the last century were in particularly primitive regions, against villagers ... literally. Hunter gatherer types who survived by a very slim margin on the land they lived on. It continues through africa, where small, unheard of villages are deemed valuable for some silly reason, and the population and surrounds decamated.
From the organisation that released this press study, i notice that 3 world biological hotspots are in South Africa. Anyone else have the premonition shudder?

10 rules for humanity
1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5.Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this.

UN on food waste
The UNEP report lists some sobering stats about food:
Food losses and waste in the United States are estimated to be as high as 50 percent. Up to a quarter of all fresh fruits and vegetables in the US is lost between the field and the table.
In Australia food waste makes up about half of landfill.
Almost a third of all food purchased in the United Kingdom every year is not eaten.
In Africa, the total amount of fish lost through discards, post-harvest loss and spoilage may be around 30 percent of landings.
In developing countries, food losses in the field between planting and harvesting could be as high as 40 percent of the potential harvest because of pests and pathogens.
A third of the world’s cereals are being used as animal feed and this will rise to 50 per cent by 2050.
An estimated 30 million tonnes of fish are discarded at sea annually.
_______________________________________________________________________
Don't give that line about global warming shrinking crops. We're not even using half of what we already got, not to mention the fact that over half the world is undernourished.
There is no excuse for anyone. Only thing left is anger.

SA 8th in GM foods race
Growth in SA GM food crops
19/02/2009 08:29 - (SA)
Pretoria - Genetically modified (GM) maize crops grew by 10 000 hectares while South Africa remained the eighth biggest producer of GM foods in the world, AgriSA announced on Wednesday.
"South Africa maintained the number eight position in the world ranking of biotech crop countries, planting more than 1,8 million hectares of biotech crops," said AgriSA CEO Kobus Laubscher.
South Africa also ranked eighth in 2007.
Addressing media in Pretoria, Laubscher said the 2008 GM maize plantings increased by 10 000 hectares, despite an almost eight percent decrease in the commercial maize area planted.
Globally, 125 million hectares of biotech crops were planted, according to the findings of the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications for 2008. This was an increase of 9.4% from 2007.
In South Africa, GM crops - namely maize, soybeans and cotton - increased.
Biotech plantings
Both yellow and white maize topped the list at 1 617 million hectares or 62% of the total maize area compared to 57% in 2007.
Of the 1 617 million hectares of maize, 56% or 891 000 hectares constituted biotech plantings.
Laubscher said farmers had to produce more crops for a growing population on smaller land (because of climate change among other things), but there seemed to be a resistance to GM foods. This perception, he said, needed to be changed.
"Its difficult to say [where the perception comes from], there [are] no medical or scientific findings to support this," he said.
Laubscher added that biotech crops, grown in 25 countries including the US and South Africa, had led to a decrease in pesticide use.
"This is a positive spin off," he said.

Hieronymus Bosch
Hieronymus Bosch
A brilliant artist, who had an insight to ... something, i'm almost scared to ask what. His art was so different to anything else, frightening in it's almost comic book fomat, yet real, and detailed beyond anything of it's time.
You can see all the gory bits at wikipedia Hieronymus_Bosch
I wanted an image he created for the previous post, and had great fun looking through his works. This however flumoxed me.

A Day of Reckoning for the USA
I cannot laud this summation enough, it strikes directly at the heart of the beast. The only change i dare make to this essay is to the title. Mr Lowry, the USA is not alone, although, as it has for several decades now, it is certainly leading.
Aquila ka Hekate: This Jung quote is exactly what you pointed at yesterday, with the "removal" of traumatic experince.
A Day of Reckoning for the WORLD
By Norm Lowry
“The foundation of all Mental Illness is the unwillingness to experience legitimate suffering.” Carl Jung
February 18, 2009 "February 18, 2009 "Information Clearing House" -- Lately, I have been inordinately baffled. The combined government & media sources of the world tell the tale of whole countries sitting on the edge of fiscal insolvency; civil unrest now becoming commonplace; starvation & suicide deaths soaring; staggering rises in unemployment; food shortages; rising threats & escalating wars. In my country (USA), the stories are the same…maybe 46 of 50 States, 80% of US cities & 2 of 3 US banks are fiscally insolvent; likely 1 of 5 workers unemployed or working part-time (due to lack of suitable employment); home foreclosures up 80% in 2008 (worse yet expected in 2009); the rise in homelessness expected to soon use up available resources; up to 1 in 6 go to bed hungry; likely 40% of States discussing possible secession options & Federal Government committing to unconstitutional use of US troops to quell expected civil disobedience or to enforce US sovereignty over the States. In spite of all of this, the majority of my fellow citizens seem to believe that we will somehow just be okay; that we are somehow more honorable & moral than everyone else.
Reality would seem to indicate that this is simply not true; that genuine hope lies only in the compassionate truth that our old, corrupt system of leadership & lies must die in order for honest resolution to occur. A monstrous lie, which is our silence to injustice, violence & racism, now covers my country like a thick fog. Though the preponderance of evidence would show us to be ‘freemen who have chosen slavery’ (Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn), our ‘absurd deafness’ (Henri Nouwen) thinks it prudent to overestimate our status & to overlook the fact that we have allowed our corrupt leaders to lead us into ‘purposeful, pre-planned recessions & wars, theft of the world’s wealth, selling of drugs & laundering of drug resources, repressing dissent (to avoid exposure), convincing the populace that we are moral & honorable, & committing genocide to maintain an illusion of control’ (Mike Ruppert, Jenna Orkin, Paul Craig Roberts, David M. Walker, Michel Chossudovsky, Ron Paul, Cynthia McKinney, John Pilger, Jonathan Cook, Stephen Lendman). Oh, that this were not true!
The Day of Reckoning for the USA is nigh at hand. Soon…our lights will go out, our economy will come to a screeching halt (when our oil supply is no longer able to be financed, due to the world losing confidence in us or no longer being willing to bow to our arrogance), chaos will become the law of our land & greater, mass death will be perpetrated on our citizenry. Soon…we will reap the due consequences of what we have allowed to be sown on our greater world.
The good news is that much of our coming calamity could likely be avoided. But it would necessitate complete honesty & integrity; admitting the truth (as it is), turning away from our blindness & evil, & becoming willing to make genuinely honest amends. Either way, the price tag seems to be the same. We can die or live, dependent on the Mercy of those we have offended…or…we can simply suffer the consequences of a terrible Day of Reckoning, with its guarantee of more destruction & death than any of us would like to see.

R.I.P. The Buccaneer
It was a year ago today theat the Buccaneer, Brian Cannoo died in hospital after being taken out by a bus while attending a track day.
The implications have echoed since, through his connections and projects, the vast numbers of people who knew him, respected him, and valued his friendship and advice.
Think Bike is not and will never be the same without him. However, it's growing by the day, his ideas and initiatives will carry on long after the rest of us follow him. As great a man as he was, he created something greater then himself. It wasn't even a new idea, Think Bike had been started back in the 80's, but sadly died through financial mismanagement. He took what was already there, cast aside by others, remade it, shaped and moulded it and gave it to others.
My own contributions to Think Bike are paltry compared to many others, but we knew the Bucc, and that was enough. A man like that is followed, not because he wants it, but because he leads naturally. He blazed his way through life, and led by example.
To his wife, and children, who miss him so much, and his many friends, and even his "best" friend Blackie, who spent many journeys riding together, peace, and love too.

The fall of capitalism
If you wish to understand what is currently happening in the world financial system, i urge you to read this article. http://informationclearinghouse.info/article22000.htm
A quoted exerpt:
The best description of their wealth is from a banker himself, Sir Josiah Stamp, at the time in 1927 the 2nd richest man in England and former head of The Bank of England:
"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money."
Go read it.
Information Clearing House has also made a plea for financial support. The collate various articles from around the web, mosty alternative news, what cnn won't tell you. It's a daily update of news and opinion, and in my opinion, excellently sourced.

United states of aggression
February 1901 In the aftermath of the Spanish-American War, the U.S. fought a brutal war of conquest in the Pacific. By 1900, more than 75,000 American troops—three-quarters of the entire U.S. Army—were sent to the Philippines. In the face of this overwhelming show of force, the Filipinos turned to guerrilla warfare. The February 5, 1901 edition of the New York World shed some light on the U.S. response to guerilla tactics: "Our soldiers here and there resort to terrible measures with the natives. Captains and lieutenants are sometimes judges, sheriffs and executioners. ’I don’t want any more prisoners sent into Manila’ was the verbal order from the Governor-General three months ago. It is now the custom to avenge the death of an American soldier by burning to the ground all the houses, and killing right and left the natives who are only suspects."

3rd Millenium AD
Was thinking the other day, about how we are living in the future. The THIRD MILLENIUM!!! We have solved hunger and poverty, communicating with aliens, and have solved pollution.
No. Not even close.
It's mayhem, total havoc, science is being replaced by politics, same for sport. Cigarettes are illegal (almost) while SA Breweries becomes a world leader in supplying poison. The US's main export is weapons, any and all death machines.
I don't get it. Like south africa, so much potential, so totally pissed away ....
The human race is doomed ... there is no other logical end ...

India rejects GM foods
I need to clarify first. Indian GOVT wants it, the people clearly don't. Monsanto (you know THEM right?) have released a GM brinjal, and obviously lied through their teeth about it.
Expert independent scientist verdict contradicts Indian regulatory authorities on biosafety of GM aubergine
"According to Seralini, “This makes for a very coherent picture of Bt brinjal that is potentially unsafe for human consumption. The GM brinjal cannot be considered as safe as its non GM counterpart.” In addition, he says that the longest toxicity test were only for 90 days, which does not assess long-term effects such as the development of cancers or tumours. Furthermore, he considers it potentially unsafe to eat animals with the health problems that had been fed Bt brinjal."
"Debjeet Sarangi, speaking for GM Free India said he was surprised that the regulatory bodies did not consider it appropriate to consult the Health Minister, as well as doctors' groups and vetinary associations before pushing this highly toxic food down the gullets of an uninformed public. “This is not science,” he said. If regulators such as the Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC) had been doing long term research to assess the claims of GM crop companies and taken up the analysis of the company's data itself then the two year large scale trials of Bt brinjal approved in 2007 would not have been allowed to go ahead. In fact, the results only came to light when a Supreme Court battle forced GEAC to put the Monsanto-Mahyco test dossier on Bt brinjal into the public domain."
Fuck off monsanto, nobody wants your shit.

In fact, the results only came to light when a Supreme Court battle forced GEAC to put the Monsanto-Mahyco test dossier on Bt brinjal into the public domain."
Fuck off monsanto, nobody wants your shit.

Banks reject "toxic" BEE
Fin24
"On Tuesday the SA banking industry drew a line in the sand for black economic empowerment (BEE) in the mining industry because BEE has been financed with debt that the banks could no longer support.
The government will have to buy out these mining companies or the mines will need to sell their production forward to repay their BEE loans"
... he didn't want to use the term "toxic assets", but others "are welcome to do so".
These deals have involved enormous amounts. It was unwise to do these deals at fair value when the resource supercycle was at its height, he continued ...
Moreover, these transactions frequently involve a division between shareholding with voting rights and economic shareholding. "In reality the banks that advanced the loans now control these assets,"
________________________________________________________________________
Oh my. He who pays the piper calls the tune. The bankers hold the rights, NOT the BEE partners. Capitalism - gotta love it. THe government WILL respond, they have to, but most likely with the usual amount of idiocy, bluff, denial and threats.
This is news to watch out for though.

Dragons and men
"He who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself; and if you gaze too long into the abyss, the abyss will gaze into you."
Ezeebike
Wai Won Ching, inventor and entrepreneur of eZee bikes and Rupert Nanni (cyclist, trail guide and keen environmentalist) have planned a grueling route on their own.
With their eZee Torq trekking bike, they will travel across 3,000 kms of Africa, starting from Katima Mulilo by the eastern Caprivi Strip, climbing hills, rough roads and the Namibian desert, roll alongside the Orange river and head down to their destination in Cape Town. Averaging some 200 kms per day, they will boldly go where no 'green' vehicle has gone.

Expatriates can vote!!!
South Africans abroad can vote
09/02/2009 12:05 - (SA)
Pretoria - South Africans abroad have been granted the right to vote in the country's upcoming elections.
The Pretoria High Court ruled in an urgent application that a portion of the Electoral Act be declared unconstitutional, the SABC reported. This relates to the portion which prevented South African citizens who are living and working abroad from voting.
Section 33.1-E of the Electoral Act was found invalid in terms of limiting the casting of special votes to people who are temporarily out of the country.
According to the SABC, the Freedom Front Plus brought the application on behalf of a South African teacher, Willem Richter, who works in the UK.

Russia's Palestine
Stalin's forgotten Zion
I had heard of this once before, like a legend forgotten by time. Astounding series of postcard-like images and captions.
From the Zionist aspect, through to the communist propaganda "style" and of course MANY implications, something to think about ....

76-year-old nabbed on dagga charge
February 06 2009 at 10:51AM
A 76-year-old woman is expected to appear before the Keiskammahoek Magistrate's Court on Friday for alleged possession of 30 rolled dagga joints, Eastern Cape police said.
Captain Ernest Sigobe said the woman was arrested on Thursday around 3pm at her house in Lower Zingcuka, Alice, after police received a tip-off that she allegedly sold dagga.
"When we arrived at her house she tried to hide the dagga, but we were able to find it stuffed inside her bag," said Sigobe. - Sapa
_____________________________________________________________________
Enter the brave policeman, stamping out crime and disobedience in the community.
Let me be clear, there are many old ladies and men who sell dagga in this manner. For most, it adds to the collection of sweets, cigarettes, and one or two other small things they would sell, and is the only way they can get that little extra money to survive.
No doubt she was selling them, 30 joints for private stock is not believeable. Those 30 joints would not however add to crime, violence, or any other "scourge" of society. This is the opiate of the masses, truly. And far from harmful, it's good for you.
When is our society going to rebel against this kind of senselessness? And who the FUCK would want to hurt this woman? This isn't crack, tik or one of those, this is dagga ... ONLY dagga.

Michael Phelps - Olympic stoner
I caught thisthis response to the general public, regrettably not Phelp's own words, but what he should instead be saying:
"It’s none of your goddamned business. I work my ass off 10 months per year. It’s that hard work that gave you all those gooey feelings of patriotism last summer. If during my brief window of down time I want to relax, enjoy myself, and partake of a substance that’s a hell of a lot less bad for me than alcohol, tobacco, or, frankly, most of the prescription drugs most of you are taking, well, you can spare me the lecture."
...
"Here’s a crazy thought: If I can smoke a little dope and go on to win 14 Olympic gold medals, maybe pot smokers aren’t doomed to lives of couch surfing and video games, as our moronic government would have us believe. In fact, the list of successful pot smokers includes not just world class athletes like me, Howard, Williams, and others, it includes Nobel Prize winners, Pulitzer Prize winners, the last three U.S. presidents, several Supreme Court justices, and luminaries and success stories from all sectors of business and the arts, sciences, and humanities…"
...
Then you have the money, sponsorships. Kudos to Swatch and Speedo, both extending support for him, and very clearly stating that they don't give a fuck. From the Huffington Post:Huffington Post:
"Two of Michael Phelps' leading sponsors expressed support for the Olympic great Monday, a day after he apologized for being photographed in a British newspaper inhaling from a marijuana pipe. Luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega termed Phelps' actions a private matter and "nonissue." Swim wear manufacturer Speedo called the 23-year-old American a "valued member of the Speedo team."
Phelps acknowledged "regrettable" behavior and "bad judgment" after the photo appeared Sunday in the tabloid News of the World."
...
"Michael Phelps is a great Olympic champion," the International Olympic Committee said in a statement to the AP. "He apologized for his inappropriate behavior. We have no reason to doubt his sincerity and his commitment to continue to act as a role model."
...
So basically, there are expectations that have nothing to do with anything at all, and yet take precedance. People are so shit scared of their children admiring a pot smoker, that they would see this true superman have his face smeared in the shit.
Seriously, fuck this. Every second tom dick or harry is happy to tell me how BAD weed is for you. No evidence, no ACTUAL REASON behind it, pure preconception. PreMISconception i should add.
So long as weed is THIS misunderstood, there is no hope for reason, rationality, or anything remotely like common sense. This is the triumf of propaganda over reason.

Poep has a bainfart ...
Ok, get the full story here ... Health 24
Here are some quotes:
"Pope Benedict XVI said Sunday that euthanasia is a "false solution" to suffering, adding his voice to a bitter debate in Italy over the fate of a comatose woman whose father wants to remove her feeding tube."
...
In 2007, the Vatican condemned American Terri Schiavo's death as "arbitrarily hastened" and called the removal of her feeding tube a violation of the principles of Christianity and civilisation.
And a direct quote from here ... www.fides.org/
“He knows in fact that to liberate humanity from the dominion of sin he must be sacrificed on the cross as the true paschal lamb. The devil, for his part, tries to divert his attention and direct it instead toward a human logic of a powerful and successful messiah. The cross of Christ will be the demon’s ruin, and this is why Jesus does not cease to teach his disciples that in order to enter into his glory he must suffer much, be rejected, condemned and crucified. Suffering is an integral part of his mission.”
________________________________________________________________
The ancient Greeks, the originators of our civilisation, disagreed with the vatican on principles of civilisation, in that euthanasia, and suicide, were commonly accepted and admired. A good life demanded a good death, or so they thought.
This may be against the principles of christianity, and can be accepted as "christian principles" but certainly claiming any civil grounds is blatant muddying of the waters ... so to speak.
This is a purely moral choice and decision, so religion is most certainly on the periphery, but here again we get the blurring of religion and state. Personally i think any rational being would support euthanasia UNDER CETAIN CONDITIONS ... since there is enough suffering in the world, certainly accepting death is not wrong? It is in fact the highest than man can strive for, to die peacefully in bed, with no regrets or outstanding business.
The last quote above, makes me sick though ... about how "JESUS" endorses suffering and pain ... I'm no theologan, but i seem to recall it was suffering "FOR JESUS" ... ie when they come break your house down because you're a christian ... (?)
Jesus at no point that i am aware, endorsed suffering and certainly none unnecesary, the only thought that comes to mind is the sabbath donkey. He ruled that its better to break a law and end the suffering of a donkey fallen into a rut, than to obey the laws stating that you shouldn't work.
Now surely that suggests, nay demands moral over legal authority?
And lets just cut this cake finer ... this is NOT euthansia, even. This is stopping an unnatural process. This is not using drugs to end a life, merely stopping the unnatural continuation of medical "care". This is force feeding a corpse.
All that is sure, is that we are not deemed capable of deciding our future for ourselves, THAT is abundantly clear.

Evil never rests
BAGHDAD - IRAQI police have taken apart a sculpture honouring the Iraqi journalist who hurled his shoes at former President George W. Bush.
The sculpture's base at an orphanage in Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit was demolished by policemen.
The sofa-sized copper-colored shoe itself had become a plaything for local children by Sunday.
The sculpture was unveiled last week but Iraqi police demanded it be removed because they said the state-run orphanage site could not be used for works with a political bias.
Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zeidi threw his shoes during a Dec 14 news conference in Baghdad. -- AP

Blackwater banned from Iraq
Al Jazeera
Blackwater, a US private security firm, has been barred from providing security for US diplomats in Iraq for its alleged involvement in the deaths of at least 17 civilians in 2007.
The Iraqi interior ministry on Thursday said the measure followed the firm's "improper conduct and excessive use of force".
"It is because of the shooting incident in 2007 ... [Blackwater] came to us and applied and we refused them. They tried by all means to stay here and we said 'no'," General Abdel Karim Khalaf, an interior ministry spokesman, told AFP.
About time too :D

Putin speech
Putin Speaks at Davos
Wow ... go read. Not for a VERY long time have a heard such a brilliant speech. Putin, despite his kgb background and mindset, appears to be becoming "my" statesman of this era.
He is working to understand the people, and to be seen with people doing ordinary things. In the recent Georgia trouble, and since then the gas "crisis". he showed a remarkable strategic ability, one which literally bowls the other players over. And he is VERY patriotic, his responsiobility is to mother russia, its people and land. How is it so few leaders have that passion?
This man would be quite good at chess, i'd think.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the international community is facing a host of extremely complicated problems, which might seem overpowering at times. But, a journey of thousand miles begins with a single step, as the proverb goes.
We must seek foothold relying on the moral values that have ensured the progress of our civilisation. Integrity and hard work, responsibility and self-confidence will eventually lead us to success.
We should not despair. This crisis can and must be fought, also by pooling our intellectual, moral and material resources."
...
"Frankly speaking, we all know that provoking military and political instability, regional and other conflicts is a helpful means of distracting the public from growing social and economic problems. Such attempts cannot be ruled out, unfortunately."
And this ...
"In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state's role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated."

Govt will 'fight' anti-Semtisim
Now apart from News 24's ASTOUNDINGLY STUPID COPY EDITOR .. can't even fucking spell semitism ... and WHY does semitism have a capital s?
That's the headline ... startling, to say the least. Amongst all of our government's problems, where is anti semitism a problem??
Her comments were apparently made at rally in solidarity with Palestine on Wednesday 14 January, in Lenasia.
She is said to have told the gathering: "They in fact control [America], no matter which government comes into power, whether Republican or Democratic, whether Barack Obama or George Bush. The control of America, just like the control of most Western countries, is in the hands of Jewish money and if Jewish money controls their country then you cannot expect anything else."
Sounds fairly accurate .... but now we have the jews getting all unhappy ...
"Condemning the "classic anti-Jewish stereotyping and conspiracy-theory mongering", the organisation has laid a formal complaint against Hajaig with the SA Human Rights Commission, for anti-Jewish hate speech."
Nicely put ... fairly typical response too. Conspiracy theory mongering ... that's a new phrase though, someone very clever thought a LONG time about that one.
This, after the jeish prime minister BRAGGED about telling bus-hboy what to do at a . UN security council vote
So, we can tell the UNITED STATES what to do, but you're NOT allowed to say so.

Inconvenient truths
So Al Gore is on the weatherpath again in Washington - Former Vice President Al Gore presented US lawmakers on Wednesday with a new inconvenient truth: Action on global warming cannot wait until the economy recovers.
But we saw this recently
35 Inconvenient
Truths
The errors in Al Gore’s movie
by Christopher Monckton of Brenchley
Now whether or not we are warming or cooling is something that is being hotly debated right now. And Gore's "weather expert" has embarrased NASA with his bad science.
For those just joining the climate discussion, Dr. James Hansen is the chief climate scientist at NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) and is the man who originally raised the alarm on global warming in 1988 in an appearance before congress. He is also the keeper of the most often cited climate data.
With coldest temperature reports and such quite common this winter, global warming really does seem odd. Since the Gore movie came out, all the observable scientific data has reversed his theory. There is no global warming. There is global climate change, but since we're still unable to completely understand it, we don't know what the changes mean, never mind if they have any value at all.
The weather modelling programs upon which these claims were made, are hopelessly inadequate to the task of evaluating the complexities of wind and rain, temperature changes on the ground because of passing clouds' shadows ... No computer model can even begin.
Yet they have modelled, they have come to self directed answers, and are now running around crying wolf. They have already a huge momentum, which HAS to be stopped. They are wrong. They do however have some ideas on taxation, and CONTROL of ... well everything really. Can you imagine the size of the carbon footprints they wish to manage?
More political social engineering ... everywhere you turn.
But we saw this recently

Zuma trial
I found this here ... (from last year)
Nicholson expected to preside over Zuma hearing
Published in: Legalbrief Today
Date: Mon 28 July 2008
Category: General
Issue No: 2119
Judge Chris Nicholson has emerged as the front-runner to preside over Jacob Zuma's bid to have his corruption trial deemed an 'unlawful prosecution'. The hearing is scheduled to get under way in Pietermaritzburg next week.
Another possible candidate, according to speculation in The Witness, is Judge Leona Theron, who was the first woman of colour to be appointed a judge in KwaZulu-Natal in October 1999 at the age of 32. The report says both Nicholson and Theron have the necessary credentials in terms of seniority and experience. Nicholson has long been a supporter of the 'underdog' in society and active campaigner for human rights, and Zuma's supporters are unlikely to have any gripe if he is chosen
Full report in The Witness
And this morning there was this ...
Next Zuma judge is a woman
January 28 2009 at 08:38AM
By Karyn Maughan and Botho Molosankwe
The judge in the hot seat for ANC president Jacob Zuma's next court appearance is an inspired and vocal activist for women's rights.
But it remains to be seen whether Judge Leona Theron - appointed as KwaZulu-Natal's first black female judge at age 33 and one of the youngest judges to act in the Supreme Court of Appeal - will be on the bench for Zuma's corruption trial after she initially presides over his February 4 appearance in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
KwaZulu-Natal Judge President Vuka Tshabalala confirmed the appointment of Theron for Zuma's court appearance, where the future course of the National Prosecuting Authority's corruption, fraud, money laundering and racketeering case against Zuma is expected to be decided.
...
As a Fulbright scholar, she graduated with a master of laws degree from the University of Georgetown in the United States in 1990.
She became an advocate in South Africa the following year.
While at university, Theron worked part time as a cashier at the now defunct OK Bazaars in Umhlanga Rocks.
She received both her BA law and BA from the then University of Natal.
Theron also sits on the board of the Durban Playhouse, is a trustee of the African Monitor and serves as an adviser to the Anglican Bishop of Natal.
She is a board member of the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at UKZN and the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Rehabilitation of Offenders.
Summary of case here

I don't quite know what to think, i certainly will be paying attention. From this brief resume, i certainly think she'll be better than Nicholson, and being a woman, who forced a life sentence onto a rapist who severely assaulted his victim, well zuma had better have his shit in order ... i see his good luck streak hitting a brick wall.

Pirates drown while fighting over loot
Five Somali pirates drowned when a wave washed off their getaway boat as they squabbled over over how to split their $3 million ransom.
The ransom had been paid to the pirates to end the world's biggest ship hijacking.
The canister full of cash was parachuted onto the Sirius Star - observed by the U.S. Navy who provided these images - and the two-month ordeal of the 25 crew, including two Britons, was finally over.
The pirates originally wanted more than £16 million to release the boat and its £65 million load of oil. Eventually they accepted the offer of $3million (around £2million).
But as they made off they continued to row about the payout.
'Two of them swam and survived. One is still missing.
The weather was so terrible that it blew the boat over, then sank it.
We got five dead bodies and we are still searching for the missing one. The waves were disastrous,' said Farah Osman, an associate of the gang.
It is not known what happened to the money or those who survived.
After the squabbling gang left the Saudi supertanker its crew were free to move to a safe port.
Both British crewmen - chief engineer Peter French and second officer James Grad - said they were well treated by the pirates.
Andrew Mwanguru, of the East African Seafarers Assistance programme, based in the Kenyan port of Mombasa, said: 'The last batch of gunmen have disembarked from the Sirius Star. She is now steaming out to safe waters.'
The company has declined to comment.
The Sirius Star was captured in November with 25 crew members, 450 nautical miles southeast of Kenya in the boldest seizure to date by Somali pirates.

You can't make this stuff up. They pulled a daring robbery, GOT THE MONEY, then died stupidly on the way home. The photo above is what $3 000 000 dollars looks like, parachuting down to the tanker.

Einstein
This giant of men, someone who saw beyond our own understanding, into a larger, more ordered universe. He is most famous for E=mc2, which tells us simply what the ancients knew all along, we are energy. All we are, all we see, is energy in some form or another. And energy flows through us, almost like the waves of the sea, only, as seen underwater, with the seaweed and kelp ebbing and flowing in harmony.
What i admire him for though, more than the scientific, is his moral contribution to mankind. He was a terribly deep thinker, and his searching mind often took him to strange corners of our psyche. He believed in the GOODness of the universe, and our need to strive for it. He believed in order, yet he placed more emphasis in the need for intuition than logic.
Here is a short selection of quotes, thoughts to think about.
The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
As quoted in Breakthrough : Israel in a Changing World (1996) by Gad Yaacobi, p. 98
When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute and it's longer than any hour. That's relativity.
An explanation of relativity which he gave to his secretary Helen Dukas to convey to non-scientists and reporters, as quoted in Best Quotes of '54, '55, l56 (1957) by James B. Simpson; also in Expandable Quotable Einstein (2005) edited by Alice Calaprice
The important thing is not to stop questioning; curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when contemplating the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of the mystery every day. The important thing is not to stop questioning; never lose a holy curiosity.
Statement to William Miller, as quoted in LIFE magazine (2 May 1955)
Never do anything against conscience even if the state demands it.
As quoted by Virgil Henshaw in Albert Einstein: Philosopher Scientist (1949)
A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest — a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.
Letter of 1950, as quoted in The New York Times (29 March 1972) and The New York Post (28 November 1972)
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.
Ideas and Opinions (1954)
I believe in Spinoza's God, Who reveals Himself in the lawful harmony of the world, not in a God Who concerns Himself with the fate and the doings of mankind.
In response the telegrammed question of New York's Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein in (24 April 1929): "Do you believe in God? Stop. Answer paid 50 words." Einstein replied in only 25 (German) words. Spinoza's ideas of God are often characterized as being pantheistic.
I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war.

“We talk to ourselves incessantly about our world. In fact we maintain our world with our internal talk. And whenever we finish talking to ourselves about ourselves and our world, the world is always as it should be. We renew it, we rekindle it with life, we uphold it with our internal talk. Not only that, but we also choose our paths as we talk to ourselves. Thus we repeat the same choices over and over until the day we die, because we keep on repeating the same internal talk over and over until the day we die. A warrior is aware of this and strives to stop his internal talk.”

I am man
Who am i? Who is God? And why are these issues always getting confused?
I am not god. If i were i am sure things would be different. I am distant cousin to god, like a shooting star is related to the sun. They have much in common, celestial lights shining through the dark. But, while the sun continues it's massive nuclear powered chemical reaction, the shooting star is just another rock.
Fate, luck, karma, predistination, free will ... all these wonderfully silly ideas that are all meaningless. Entropy, there is a nice solid concept for you to grasp. Real, tangible, irrefutable, and it's here, has been for countless millenia, will outlast everything else. I always feel slightly nauseous when people tell me that my fate is in my own hands ... no it's not. These same eople are usually wealthy, or at least comfortable, and i'm sure they like the idea that they are responsible for their happiness. Ask a poor person why they were so horrible to themselves, and you will get the look that says it all.
Control, power, supremacy, these are what people WANT. They crave it like a drug, and anything that comes between them and it is but a problem to be solved as expediently as possible. They think they can get it, have it, use it, and they DESERVE it. How dare they? As though any of us mortals have the right to more than any other? We are little stones on the beach of the universe ... and the bigger stones seem to think they are more valuable than the smaller. The ARROGANCE of these people ... who seem to think they are any more than a pathetic piece of meat ... for them i pray the hell of eternal torment, but to what end? By then too late ... better to cease to exist and never bother this earthly realm again.
God, should IT exist and be what people claim ITit says IT is, is a seriously demented being. From the God of the jews to kali and beyond, the message is always clear:
Jealous, petty, violent ... exactly what our own society deems to be admirable traits of survival. I cannot fathom how many contradictions and iconsistencies have come to be rolled into a neat pile and proudly called WORTHY. I would not wish to be like that. I am man.
God gives on one side and takes the other, never rhyme or reason, but the people will always credit IT with their own stupid ideas, and feel clever for it, and expect to be rewarded, like a stupid dog drooling at noise.
We are stones, occasionally we glimpse other things, in our awareness of around us ... but we will never be more than that. Stones that hope for an afterlife, ith pretty pools of cleaning water and all manner of enticements. To become more than stones we tramle and crush other stones ... in the vague understanding that anything truly worthwhile would be limited, and as such strived for.
God, gods, goddess and any other anything that wants to jump on the list. Fuck you all ... you are worse than man ... you who are so high and demanding of our praise, yet so petty and vulgar. Shame on you. Standing aside and claiming we control ourselves, yet reaching don to our level for no other reason than to interfere for YOUR OWN GLORY, or something. Go away. Leave us alone, i think you've done enough, really, go NOW. There is no justice, no higher anything. There is only brutality and death. ONLY MAN can look at this and triumph in a quiet house, and meditation on this dirty little life he has. But the gods, who nspire all of the worst in us, claim all the best for themselves, enough.

Bantu education
"Fifty percent of kids who enter school never pass out through Grade 12," said Cronje, questioning whether a school system which saw half its entrants never reach Grade 12 could hold forth 62.5 percent as "an honest reflection of the passout from the school system".
Cronje said the current school system was much the same as Bantu education, in that it was stunting "mainly poor, mainly black" children.
"The low pass rates, the low throughput rates and the low rates of university entry passes (calculated by the institute as an effective 11,7 percent) are perhaps now the greatest single crisis facing South Africa."
"The end result is not very different from that of Bantu education."
Taken from IOL
SO the department of miseducation tells the world we have a pass rate of 62,5%.
The Institute of Race Relations said it should be considered that:
of the 920 716 students who were in Grade 11 in 2007,
only 333 681, or 64 percent, went on to write their matric examinations in 2008.
"36,2 percent is a more accurate reflection of the real effective matric pass rate than the 62,5 percent cited by Education Minister Naledi Pandor," Frans Cronje, the deputy chief executive officer of the institute, told the Cape Argus.
"You wouldn't go through 11 years and give up of your own volition.
"Something is preventing them from getting through, but we don't know exactly what," said Cronje.
Annually, there were roughly a million students per grade in all grades from Grade one to 11, "but suddenly in Grade 12 you have half that number".

Rage against the machine have taken a lot of flack for gratuitous violence in their lyrics and how inappropriate they are. Read the story above, then read the lyrics, they are actually saying something ...
Rage Against the Machine Bullet in the Head Lyrics:
This time the bullet cold rocked ya
a yellow ribbon instead of a swastika
nothin´ proper about ya propaganda
fools follow rules when the set commands ya
they said it was blue
when the blood was red
that´s how you got a bullet blasted through ya head
blasted through ya head
blasted through ya head
I give a shout out to the living dead
who stood and watched as the feds cold centraliced
so serene on the screen
you was mesmerized
cellular phones soudin¨a death tone
corporations cold
turn ya to stone before ya realize
they load the slip in omnicolor
they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatras
and mutha fuckas lost their minds
just victims of the in-house drive-by
they say jump, you say how high
they load the clip in omnicolors
they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatras
and mutha fuchas lost their minds
no scape from the mass mind rape
play it again jack and then rewind the tape
play it again and again and again
untill ya mind is locked in
believen´ all the lies that they´re tellin´ya
buying all the products that they´re sellin´ya
they say jump
ya say how high
ya brain dead
ya gotta fuckin´ bullet in ya head
just victims of the in-house drive-by
they say jump, you say how high
ya standin´ in line
bellevin´ the lies
ya bowin down to the flag
ya gotta bullet in ya head

"Arce’s video footage caught the incident, and is testimony to what we’ve seen, what medics have told us they’ve long endured, and what Israeli authorities beligerently continue to deny: Israel is targeting medical personnel, as Israeli forces target journalists, civilians, and these days in Gaza anything that moves. No sanctuary, no safety, no guarentee of medical service."

On a lighter note ... saw something that really got my attention.
Milkmag
A digital magazine for digital heads like me ... full of the usual tupe of stuff. Except, it incorporates "youtube" movies in it's stories, and the layout is of a magazine, ie you watch the pages turn.
Very nice concept, it actually feels nice to read, and you're compelled to turn the page.

Letter protests South African Jewish leaders
Taken from JTA - Jewish news service
CAPE TOWN (JTA) -- A letter from a group of Jewish South Africans published in a Cape Town newspaper tells Jewish leaders who support Israel's Gaza operation not to speak for them.
Nearly 100 Jews signed the letter, which appeared Monday in the Cape Times daily, attacking a statement supporting Israel's decision to launch a military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The statement was issued by the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, the South African Zionist Federation and the office of the chief rabbi on behalf of the community.
While the group recognizes the existence of communal structures, it is "distressed that they purport to speak for us and the many Jews who are uncomfortable with the destruction in Gaza, claiming one collective view for the entire community." The letter calls the approach of the communal bodies "irresponsible" in view of the divergence of opinion within the community.
It describes Israel's response in Gaza as "inhumane and disproportionate collective punishment prohibited under international law" while "strongly opposing" the rockets Hamas has been firing into Israel. It calls on communities "vocal in their support for the Palestinians" to condemn the latter.
About 15,000 protesters marched on the South African parliament last week under the banner of the Muslim Judicial Council against Israel's actions in Gaza.
"We call on the Jewish Board of Deputies not to exacerbate local tensions with statements that demonstrate a lack of compassion for Palestinian lives," the letter concludes.
Among the letter's signatories were the principal of the University of Cape Town, Max Price, and the controversial cartoonist Zapiro.

Very nice ... do not speak for us ... very clear.

Nigel freed!!
Boy, 2, freed from Zim jail
14/01/2009 15:27 - (SA)
Harare - A two-year-old boy detained in a Zimbabwean prison with his activist parents has been freed after 76 days behind bars, the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) said on Wednesday in a statement.
Nigel Mutemagawo, who was abducted by gunmen together with his parents from their home in Banket in northwestern Zimbabwe, was released from detention on Tuesday, the MDC said.
He had been held with his parents, Collen Mutemagawo and Violet Mupfuranhehwe, both MDC activists who are facing terrorism charges.
A Zimbabwe court on Friday refused to drop the charges against his parents and five others.
The MDC accused President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF party of violating the spirit of a unity accord signed four months ago, which has stalled amid political bickering over how to form a cabinet.
"It confirms that Zanu-PF has become an enemy of human rights and is not sincere in implementing the (unity) agreement, which guarantees the basic rights and freedoms of individuals," it stated.
Nigel's parents are among 28 activists who were abducted by state security agents in separate incidents since late October.
Their lawyers say they have been tortured in custody and face trumped up charges of trying to topple Mugabe.

Obama
An actor walks upon the floodlit stage of life
wearing a mask of an angel beneath a demon's gown.
Pretence smiles upon the crowded hall of life
holding out hope as bright as it is false.
Son of a woman in whose veins flows the blood
of ancient Ireland and dark Africa’s plains.
You are Obama, nick-named the standing king
You are Barack, oh, son born to deceive
The suffering hoards of Africa look up to you,
See a black saviour where nought but a Judas strides.
An entrapper of nations, bringer of dismal war
Behind the robes and the nylon wings of hope
Oh, may those who look upon you, see you as you are.
May those who hope in you behold you as you be
A prince deceitful to bring down Africa’s shrines
A siren who leads Africa’s ships onto rocks of obliteration.
Your rule my lord will not be one of peace
Your reign my king will not be one of smiles
Even as we speak in caves both dark and dank
Enraged fanatics plot your dark demise
They will put around your head a bloodwet martyr’s crown.
Oh black Kennedy following the one before
May God forgive thee and thy fiery spouse
As you walk in silence from the stage of life
Barack Obama, blessed son, Oh standing king.

Zim
This issue has been biting me for days. No better than Gaza, only closer, frighteningly close. Horrific too, the people coming back from zim where they spent their christmas, poverty isn't quite the word ... there isn't anything. No goods in the shops, no water in the taps, even the money in the bank has been frozen (you are allowed to draw a certain sum per month, i believe its enough to buy 2 loaves of bread, if you can find).
It's SO close ... yet i lie in my bed with a well fed stomach, relatively safe from the world, and SO CLOSE to this .... inhuman depravity. What can i do??????
Anyway, i found this this morning, and then went to here and here and somehow it's ll fallen apart now.
I quote: "The judge is saying the high court will not intervene. It is worse than apartheid South Africa."
There is no justice ... again i scream at the world. This is the same as gaza ... a complete picture of man's inhumanity to man. In gaza it is ethnic, but in zim it's the same people killing their own families. Hitler was famous for killing 6 000 000 jews, stalin beat that quite comfortably with 50 000 000 of his own countrymen. Sadly i know that some leaders in the anc believe stalin to be a good role model. They have the same mental disease.
This child, only one amongst millions, is being held in hell, and FUCKING TORTURED to extract non existant confessions from his mother. She must be a very brave woman, to make the government fear her so much. This child will be scared for life, for what? Think for a moment, of seeing your own 2 year old being beaten ... or him 's watching the men beat and rape you. Thats what they do, you know?
Meanwhile madbob is on holiday in Malaysia, reflecting on the situation at home.
God bless you little Nigel ... and your famiy too.

To the south african government:
YOUR ARE SPINELESS AFRICAN DOGS THAT DROOL OVER THE CARCASSES THAT OTHERS HAVE SLAIN. YOU ARE WORTHLESS WOUNDS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, POLLUTING WITH YOUR PRESENCE, DEFILING WITH YOUR TOUCH. MAY YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW A THOUSAND TIMES OVER ... THE DEATH PAIN AND DEHUMANISATION FOR YOUR OWN GREED.
