Political interference - there isn't any

Johannesburg - There is no political interference in any prosecutorial proceedings of any case in the country, said the National Director of Public Prosecutions Menzi Simelane on Wednesday. 

"There isn't any political interference, and there has not been any political interference.
"I don't even know what political interference looks like," Simelane said

Yes, and i'm sure Zuma doesn't know what a condom looks like either?

This guy is such bad trouble for this country ... i cannot stress how much so ...

Other controversial actions by Simelane recently include:

Instructing the prosecutor in the "Jub Jub" case, where musician Molemo Maarohanye faces charges relating the deaths of four children, not to oppose bail. When the prosecutor did oppose bail, Simelane had him moved. After an outcry the prosecutor was reinstated.

Instructing the Asset Forfeiture Unit to call off attempts to freeze the foreign assets of businessman Fana Hlongwane as part of the arms deal investigation.

Issuing a directive that public prosecutors may not speak to the media without prior permission from the director of public prosecutions.

Demoting three highly experienced advocates, including George Baloyi, who worked on the Zuma corruption case. Simelane backed down after the three began legal action.

Simelane was instrumental in getting his predecessor, Vusi Pikoli, dismissed. 

While the Ginwala Commission found Pikoli to be "fit and proper" to hold the position of chief of the NPA, it found that Simelane's complaints against Pikoli were "spurious, without substance, and may have been motivated by personal issues". 

It found that Simelane's conduct relating to the minister was "highly irregular".
