Traffic severely disrupted after shooting
Police have confirmed that a 32-year-old man has been killed in an early morning ambush on the N1 highway in northern Johannesburg.

The motorist and his wife were driving between the Malibongwe and William Nicol off ramps when they hit a rock.

The police's Julia Klaasens says the man stopped his car to change the tyre when he was ambushed.

Klaasens says the motive of the attack is not known and a case of murder is being investigated.

The crime scene has caused major traffic delays on the N1 north and on roads leading to the highway.

Motorists are advised to allow an extra half an hour travelling time.
